Vanilla Birthday Cake
Yes, I've finally managed to make a vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream, without any other distraction. Everything in this cake was vanilla flavored.. I would use vanilla flavored flour if such existed!

Christmas Poppy Seed Cake
Merry Christmas to You guys! May your life be filled with warmth, love, peace and good cheer this Holy season!
During the Christmas holidays in Poland, beside the gingerbreads we bake sweets filled with poppy seeds, rum and dry fruits. Oh, there is so many of them! Delicious cheesecake, layer cake, bread plait and buns. When I was a little girl we had all this sweets on our Christmas table, now I bake just one...or two.

The star of last week's cake auction. Devilishly delicious chocolate cake filled and cover with tons of chocolate.

Earl Grey Raspberry Cake with Earl Grey Swiss Buttercream
Probably almost every one of you love chocolate cakes and desserts. To be honest, I'm not a huge fun of this addictive to so many ingredient. I like working with chocolate, but I definitely prefer eating fruity cakes.

Grandma's Adele Mexican Cake
While I was looking for that perfect recipe for a chocolate sour cream cake I made about 5 years ago (good luck to me finding it today), I have found another treasure of mine, Grandma's Adele recipe notebook! You can still smell the butter and almond extract on its pages...wodefullicious!

Banana, Date and Honey Cake with Walnuts
My "Cake Saga" is still going on, and I think I would need a quite few life times to bake all the cakes I have planned! But this is a really fun project.
Today, uber flavorful and very simple to make, banana and date cake. Moist, a little sticky with gorgeous walnut crunch. You can mix walnuts into the batter if you like, but I don't like the way they darken after baking, so I never toss them in.

Chocolate Marble Cake with Pink Buttercream Frosting
This is as close as I could get to make a vanilla cake. Of course I had to twist it around and add chocolate touch to it! Honestly I think I have never made simple a vanilla cake.
Don't take me wrong, vanilla is one my favorite flavors, but I reallllly can't control my actions... ; )

Earl Grey Tea, Blueberry and Lemon Cake
I'm in the "baking trance" since few day now, it's only Wednesday and I already baked four cakes (you should try this one). I have so many amazing cookbooks lying around, and so many printed pages marked with colorful stickers, I think the time has come, to try all the recipes (yay!), and spend all my saving on the ingredients, ha (berries can be really expensive)! I guess I wont be buying that nice shirt I saw in Mango the other day...
I like to try the funky recipes, or the ones which call for some kind of weird ingredient. This gorgeous cake isn't too funky, but it brought my attention due to flavors combination. I've tried various Earl Grey tea cake recipes, but non of them had such a deep Earl Grey flavor. Here you mix in freshly brewed tea and the tea leaves into the cake batter. Tadaaa! Now you know the secret.
Pine Kernel Torte with Mascarpone Cream
After making an amazing Watermelon Pudding Tart, today's recipe is another proof that Italian cakes and desserts absolutely rock. I don't have to mention Tiramisu, right (OMG!!!). I'm talking about Torta di Pinoli con Crema al Mascarpone, a very easy to make, pine kernel cake. Perfect for autumn tea or dinner party. Its has wonderful moist texture and light nutty crunch. You can serve it "a la nude" dusted with just a little powdered sugar, or as a more festive dessert, filled with delicious mascarpone cream. Either way, the cake is really delicious.

Pumpkin Cake with Quark Frosting and Raspberries
New, fresh face of a pumpkin dessert! This not wintery at all cake, with a good hint of an orange zest, very fresh and light frosting takes one of the first places on my top ten list of cakes I absolutely love. It is a wonderful after dinner dessert.

Carrot Beetroot Cake with Dulce de Leche Cream Cheese Frosting
Couple of weeks ago was my parents 40th wedding anniversary, and even if we are many kilometers away from each other I decided to celebrate with them! But hey, what is the wedding party without a cake, right? I wanted this to be very real, so a I called my Mom and I asked what cake she would like have, she chose very simple Carrot and Beetroot Cake.

It's one of these days when you really have to write something smart, and all you have in your head is yesterday's night buzz.
